(CANVAS STAFF REPORTS) - "Star Wars" creator George Lucas supposedly has his own end of the world theories. Or at least likes to joke about them.
Lucas became the center of a media frenzy after Seth Rogen talked about a conservation he had with the director.
The "Green Hornet" actor appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show told a story about talking to Lucas and director Steven Spielberg when Lucas started predicting Armageddon would be next year.
"He's going on about the tectonic plates and all the time Spielberg is rolling his eyes, like, 'My nerdy friend won't shut up, I'm sorry …," reported Digital Spy .
The Toronto Sun said Rogen claimed Lucas went on for more than 20 minutes.
Rogen said that, when he figured out Lucas was serious, he started thinking that Lucas had built a spaceship for himself and asked for a seat on it.
"He claimed he didn't have a spaceship, but there's no doubt there's a Millennium Falcon in a garage somewhere with a pilot just waiting to go," he said. "It's gonna be him and Steven Spielberg and I'll be blown up like the rest of us."
However, since media reports circulated the story, a Lucasfilm representative has issued a disclaimer Wednesday night.
Lucasfilm rep Lynne Hale e-mailed Wired.com to state that Lucas wasn't actually serious.
"He was not serious when he talked about the end of the world in 2012 but he is an adamant believer that the world is flat, that Stonehenge was built by aliens, and that the sun revolves around the Earth," Hale said. "These are among the many subjects he commonly discusses at length with Elvis, who he’s going to digitally insert into Indy 5 along with a roster of famous dead actors."
Digital Spy said the claim about Armageddon is similar to a Mayan prophecy that predicts the world will end in 2012.
While Lucas may not believe it, others do. AOL News recently reported that viewers of the 2009 film "2012," which depicts the end will come as an ancient Mayan calendar ends on Dec. 21, 2012, is calling NASA with concerns.
"The agency is getting so many questions from people terrified that the world is going to end in 2012 that we have had to put up a special website to challenge the myths," Donald Yeomans, a senior research scientist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., said.
The website states that Dec. 21, 2012, will be another winter solstice but not much else.

What is your Prediction or Opinion on What will happen December 21, 2012?
